I wish LSU would go back to wearing Purple at home some games. The white jerseys are great, but get a little manotneous (sp?). I love the purple jerseys, and the players want to wear them more also. The other team must feel like they are at home in their home darks. Don't get me wrong, I love the white, but I also love the purple... Bring back the purple for big games!!! GEAUX TIGAHS!!
I agree completely. I get tired of seeing the same old white jerseys. The only problem with the purple jerseys is the players wear those white pads underneath, and the white shows through, very tacky.
Re: Re: BRING BACK THE PURPLE JERSEYS!! I'm a fan of your purple jerseys as well. The white pads showing thing would be solved by not having the jersey style with such wide air holes throughout. Auburn wears navy and you don't see the white pads showing through, so I'm sure it could be done for purple as well.
Purple at night would be awesome. Purple during the day is a disadvantage during the early part of the schedule due to the heat. I vote for white during home day games and purple for home night games until it gets cooler.
Have any of you been to LSU football games in the last few years? If so, you would know that we wear purple for the second and third (or fourth, depending upon the schedule that year) OOC games. We wore purple for the Western Illinois game, and we will (or at least we should) wear purple next week for La. Tech. Even if you haven't been to a game, you've likely seen pictures of such games on the internet.
The purple jerseys used to be considered bad luck. Supposedly years ago we had a terrible won/loss record with the purple jerseys. I heard that at some away games the hosting team would wear their travel jerseys (usually white) just to force us to wear purple to bring us bad luck. Mental games. I'm not sure this applies to today but that's why some people are against wearing the purple. Personally I like them also.
