That's the irony (if that's not too big a word for you) bitter. Relying on past glory isn't cutting it. The only school in a catch up mode right now is nd and you're barely hanging on to the Tiger's tail as it is.
That is exactly why people hate duke. Because people have this image of them and they arent that at all. Good fundamental basketball - Yeah, flops are great. Kids used to stay in school and don't get in trouble - Every school USED to have players stay. Redick would tell you that, but he may not have time due to a court appearance. Don't have recruiting violations - Neither does almost every single team.
Did you know LSU won a NC in 1908? Did you also know LSU was the southern conference champs in 1896? Get some information before posting, LSU is rich in history and tradition, so we dont need to "catch up" with an overrated bunch of sissies that couldnt win 9 bowl games in a row.
I really can't believe how big this has gotten on this forum. This is as bad as some kind of political race. I won't get into my opinon of Quinn again, as I am admittedly a little biased, no matter how fair an open minded I try to be. However, I must admit that I don't see where Quinn has really hurt himself with his comments, whether they are "whining" or not. Maybe I've missed it, and I'd appreciate a link to an article ifI did, but I haven't seen anything except on this forum that says he's hurt his situation. To bitterND, I will give you credit for coming onto this forum and stiring up the regulars. There are even times when I agree with your post and think you make good arguments. However, I will have to take issue with one of your regular themes. I am a huge Irish fan, and always have been. I was "smart" enough to get accepted into Notre Dame, but was not able to afford it at the time. I went to LSU instead, got a great education, and as a result my wife (who got her MD from LSU) and I have been blessed with the means to send our kids to Notre Dame or any other university they choose. I have met many Notre Dame alumni over the years, and I have never met one that thought less of me for going to school somewhere else. You can be proud of your school, and be an avid fan without having to throw out comments about the students/accademics at LSU. Sorry for rambling..
