Went to the LSU vs. Tulane basketball game last night.

Darrell Mitchell looked fantastic scoring 19 points. He made 4 - 3 point shots and made ESPN type block shot under the basket.

Jaime was his normal self leading the team with 20 points.

Tack Minor had a great game scoring 12 points and dishing off quite a few assists.

I look for Tack to probably slip into the starting line-up by SEC play in place of point guard Xavier Whipple. Whipple was 0-3 from the field and got burned on defense.

Brandon Bass had an off night - but had a few monsterous dunks.

I'll be attending the next home game on January 10 vs. Alabama. Hopefully we will still be undefeated by then!

    Terrible!

Only had about 6,000 fans there.

I just wish everyone would come out and support our basketball team.

Come SEC play if we are doing really well all the fare-weather-fans will be out in full force.

I saw a few previous Tigers there.

Torris Bright, Jermaine Williams, and Brad Bridgewater were there.

    BasileTiger,

Thanks for informing us about this game.
I live out of state and its always good to here news about the
    games that aren't televised.

I can't wait til they are back on tv and am looking forward to a
    good year.

I have ESPN Full court and kinda surprised that they've had
everyone but LSU on there so far.

It was a good game but I wouldn't say that the crowd was terrible considering 6,000 showed up two days before Christmas. The paid attendance was over 10,000.

That Mitchell block was phenomenal but he could have puncuated the play with a dunk on the other end if only Tack had given him the ball on the wing on the ensuing fast break.

Tack looked great but when he is penetrating to dish the ball off he needs to pull up a little sooner. There were a couple times last night where he could have been called for a charge after he passed the ball off. All he needs is two dribbles and then dish it off as the helping defender will be pulled away far enough from the pass recipient to give a clear shot.

Brandon Bass had his worst game as a Tiger. He was content with taking pull up jump shots when he could have been using his size to go to the basket and get layups or fouled.

Whipple and Thompson played poorly and if Whipple can't stay in front of his man then he had better get used to the bench. Brady won't tolerate him not playing defense - he bench Torris Bright last year in SEC play for the same thing.

Overall the Tigers played well but had some cold moments that they need to eliminate from their game. Also, the zone offense looks like it could use some work, but that is to be expected with such a young team.

The future is bright for this team.
