Was going to post this Friday night, but i was waiting for a link to come out, Brad Pitt was on the Today Show, friday, and said he wanted to run for mayor of New Orleans, but then on the Bill Maher show said he should run for Governor of Louisiana, and i quote "what i ought to do is run for Governor of the great state of Louisiana." he said he wanted no religion, legalization of gay marraige, and one that is near and dear to my heart, the legalization of marijuana. i am posting 2 videos, but the second link is when he starts to talk about mayor, governor thing. Its a really good interview i thought. YouTube - Brad Pitt Interview With Bill Maher Part 1 YouTube - Brad Pitt Interview With Bill Maher Part 2
Imagine there's no Heaven It's easy if you try... With a platform like that, it'll guarantee Bobby's re-election.
Just finished listening to the second interview. He seems like an intelligent guy, and articulated his position pretty well. I could not fundamentally disagree with his position more, though. I don't care about the legalization of marijana. If they want to make it legal, then make it legal. As long as it's illegal, the laws should be enforced. Gay marriage. I'll support a gay civil union giving them all the same legal rights as heterosexual couples, but I don't support gay marriage. I'd go as far as to say that the state should no longer recognize "marriage", but all legal "marriage" contracts could be civil unions, and we could leave marriage up to the church. The bottom line to me is you can do whatever you want on a legislative level to give people rights, but don't start stepping on religion to do it.
I agree. If they want to pass laws to give homosexual couples equal rights to married heterosexual couples, I'm okay with that. If we want to change the language to be civil unions for all legal lifetime partnerships, I'm okay with that. Strip the term marriage from the government, and leave it to the churches.
Hes a dumb ****, keep him out. THis also is cause for concern, his wife wants to run for president. I read that some where, dont have link.
i'd vote for him, big surprise. he has done alot for new orleans, and i agree with same sex civil unions and of course the other thing, what was it...uh, oh yeah no religion.
Separation of church and state doesnt mean, gov. should support a religionless population. It means it doesnt support or deny. This knuckle head wants to attack religions imo.
