Josh (Baton Rouge): With a solid win over Georgia could LSU swing any coaches or writers to put them as #2 no matter what the outcome of the USC-Oregon State game is? Brad Edwards: (6:08 PM ET ) Josh, from watching both teams play almost every week this season, I believe it will take more than a dominant performance by LSU to switch the order in the polls. USC will need to lose or have a sloppy win to fall from No. 2. The gap is significant enough that nearly half of the voters will need to change their ballots. As a sidebar, I can tell you that a number of LSU fans are flooding the e-mail inboxes of AP voters this week with their reasons why LSU should be No. 2. Unfortunately, they are running the risk of annoying these people to the point that they might not want to give LSU the No. 2 spot.
He just told you... that there was no way to pass USC even with a win over the #5 team in the nation and you want us to be tolerant of their behavior?! F**k them and the Trojan horse they ride!!! What better venue to discuss their blatant oversights and to recall their attention to their duty than by direct confrontation! They are single handidly trying to swing the outcome of a sporting event by limiting the players involved, shame on them!!! I say e-mail them til we get the respect that we deserve!!! What are you going to say next year when the same injustice happens to somebody (maybe us again). I say if you don't e-mail them, then you live with the destiny that they have left for you. I'd rather be like one of the ball players and fight for what is ultimately their right!!!! TO BE #2 IN THE POLLS.
Ditto Fightintiger, We have to realize going to the sugar bowl this year probably isn't going to happen unless USC lays an egg Saturday. We also have to win in Atlanta or Georgia may go play in Sugar bowl if USC lays an Egg. Its been a great year regardless........ Playing a bowl in January for the 3rd straight year. Don't think LSU has ever done that before.
It's simple, the BCS is a crock. Until it's decided on the playing field like all other national championships, it's mythical.
Prediction If LSU does not make it on the Day after they will be saying LSU should have been there. Has anyone even heard a fact a stat or anyother reason than they are better then LSU? LSU fans are giving all kind of reason in stats to vote them # 2 and not one rebutal from anybody about why to vote USC # 2 other than they are better then LSU. I have also heard that we need to not beat UGA very bad so that they can stay in the top 10 of the BCS Bull SHit beat the crap out of them and let the cards fall. All this talk about the AP voters not voting for us because they will get annoyed is BS write call send stats make them change their email because it does not matter they are not voting for LSU anyway. The only way LSU can get in is with these computers. we need 6 of the 7 to vote them #2 screw the AP voters its a biased system its a popularity vote and face USC is more popular then LSU. The Sport Reporter on ESPN that is on Sunday at 9 am said it exactly the way they feel " I dont want LSU I want USC the band the horse LSU is a good football story but USC is USC." Until you people realize its not about the #1 vs #2 its about TV markets and revenue. I think its also about USC and OK for some reason nobody thinks LSU has enough tradition.
If some of the AP voters are unprofessional enough to base their vote on who they happen to be annoyed with, then they don't deserve their vote. It's supposed to be based upon unbiased observation (or so says Scott Rabalais).
The AP and Coaches Poll (formerly the UPI Poll) has been like this long before many of us were born ... and now we want them to change their ways b/c LSU is finally competing with the big boys? Isn't it funny how we don't care about something until it affects us directly...
I don't want anything but a fair and unbiased vote from these guys. Anything else reflects poorly upon THEIR professionalism.
