What are LSU's bowl scenarios at this point?

Too many. CapOne, Outback, Cotton, or BCS at-large.

It's so up in the air, it ain't even funny.

All has to do with whether Florida makes it to the NC game.

If they do and LSU can beat Arkansas, then LSU probably goes to the Sugar (I would hope they pick us over a 3 loss Arkansas team).

    Well, Let's see.

LSU wins SECCG, we go to the Sugar.

If LSU wins out, but doesn't go to SECCG:
Sugar is a real possibility if Florida goes to NCG (I think Arkansas beats UF though.)
The Big1T1en will send at least one team to the NCG, but the loser of TOSU/UM game will probably go to Rose. If SC ends up in Glendale, a LSU/UM Rose Bowl would be very attractive due to the Miles connection and the fact that ND has already played UM.
Fiesta is out, now that Texas has no chance at NCG and Boise St is still winning.
Orange is a possibility, vs ACC champ, but if WVU beats Rutgers, look for the Big East Champ here. If Florida is in Sugar and Rutgers is in NCG, then Orange becomes more likely.

If LSU loses to Arkansas or Florida:
Cotton is most likely. Citrus would love to have Florida if they lose to Arkansas. If Florida beats Arkansas, Citrus will choose between LSU & Arkansas and I don't know which way they would lean. Citrus will not take us as loser of SECCG.

Auburn is probably headed to the Outback, South Carolina to Peach, Tennessee to Music City, AMAB to Liberty and Georgia to Independence. Kentucky will have to rely on someone else not meeting their committment.

    How's that for a WAG?

Very good analysis. I pretty much agree with the scenarios. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Chick fil A snap up UGA, they love local teams and have always invited Georgia or Georgia Tech if they had a chance.

I would like to see LSU play in one of the bowls that does not have a Big Ten tie in, simply because Wisconsin or Penn State do not thrill me as opponents. I wouldn't mind playing OU in the cotton, or maybe Michigan, or USC/Notre Dame would be awesome if we make it to the BCS as an at large.

    Them predictions be whack.

How is Louisville going to get picked over an SEC team as an at-large?

2 teams from the Big Least, 1 from the almighty SEC?

    Spare me.

Here is how the selection could go:

Let's say for hypothetical sake that Ohio St. and Florida play for it all.

NC = Ohio State vs. Florida

The two bowls who lost their representative to the BCS NC go first:
    Rose picks Michigan (at-large)
    Sugar picks Notre Dame (at-large)

Basically they scoop up these teams before someone else has a chance to.

    Contractually:
    Rose gets USC/Cal PAC-10 winner
Orange gets Wake Forest/Georgia Tech ACC winner
Fiesta gets Texas/Nebraska Big 12 Winner

Orange picks WVU/Rutgers Big East winner
    Fiesta picks Boise State
    Sugar picks LSU

    Rose: Michigan vs. Cal/USC
    Sugar: Notre Dame vs. LSU
    Fiesta: Texas/Nebraska vs. Boise State
Orange: Wake Forest/Georgia Tech vs. Rutgers/WVU

Note: Replace LSU with Arkansas if Arkansas beats LSU.

    Arkansas/LSU loser goes to Cotton.

What I guess I would not understand from this scenario is why the Fiesta would elect to pick Boise State over LSU. But all predictions point to this happening. Maybe someone can shed some light on this. Is it because Boise State would travel well to the Fiesta Bowl? It's not like they are down the road from there. Me dunno.

Dammit, why didn't San Jose State hold on and beat Boise State this past weekend? I hate them blue phuckers. That would have guaranteed a 2nd SEC team as an at-large and still paved the way for someone like Louisville to make it. I think Nevada will beat Boise State in 2 weeks. Lets all hope so.

With Florida and Ohio State being in the NC game, then a 3rd team from that conference could not be invited. So Arkansas would be out as well as Wisconsin.

I can't See FLA winning the SECCG. They have gotten worse as the season goes on...

For the sake of arguement, let's say that ARK wins the SECCG, why wouldn't ARK be considered for the NC Game? Was it because they were ranked so low to start the season? With as many teams from the SEC in the Top 10 this season, how could they not have an SEC team in the NC???
