Thinking about players missing bowl games and the treats that they will miss, here is what the Bowls gave they players last year. Can't believe the NCAA allows players to get nice things for playing football. http://www.fanblogs.com/bowl_games/006264.php Looks like the bowl games are upping the ante on player gifts, compared to the 2004 bowl gifts. Many more games are giving out DVD players and MP3 players, along with your typical luggage, watches, and hats. Here's a quick rundown of what the BCS bowls are giving out: Tostitos Fiesta Bowl - Ohio State vs. Notre Dame Sony PSP, Bulova men's watch, Commemorative football, Fiesta Bowl dart board and snack-filled duffel bag Nokia Sugar Bowl - West Virginia vs. Georgia Men's Fossil watch/sunglasses set, Samsung Mp3 player, Customized Trek mountain bike, Commemorative hat FedEx Orange Bowl - Penn State vs. Florida State Sony PSP, Madden NFL 2006 and NBA Live 2006, Ogio duffel bag, Commemorative hat and team plaque, Friday Night Lights DVD, ESPN The Magazine subscription Rose Bowl Game Presented by Citi - Texas vs. USC Sony PSP, Madden NFL 2006, Rose Bowl watch and backpack, New Era hat and knapsack, Commemorative Rose Bowl flip coin, Rose Bowl souvenir football, The Longest Yard DVD
Allstate is a bunch of cheap bastards. All the othe bowls are giving PSPs and what are they giving? A watch and sunglasses. Didn't the insurance companies post huge gains this pas year? They suck
Sign me up for the Alamo Bowl...they all got xbox 360's. One of the other bowls gives the 30 gig iPod video too.
thats what I'm talking about. What would a college football player whether have, a xbox 360 or a mountain bike? i am going with the xbox
going home from the peach bowl last year, i saw one of the miami players with an xbox box in his hancds so i assume that is what they got. i thought there was a money limit on the items, like 300 total?
Funny article about the Bowl gifts, says LSU only getting autographed football of 2006 ND team. http://www.theonion.com/content/node/56180 I cant find the article about the limit I read earlier but it said it was raised this year to around $500-550 from $350.
But the gifts were last year's gifts. And that darn Mountain bike must have cost a few dollars. Wonder how they got em home?
