Phil Steele has the exact same prediction (vs. Wisconsin in the Capital One Bowl), with Tennessee beating us the SEC Championship.

Well if we dont end up in th eBig Easy this year I really want to go to Florida, I'd prefer Tampa and Orlando is 2nd on my list. You know what weird, if we dont win the SEC we would have a better chance of going to a BCS bowl if we dont even make it to Atlanta instead of going and then losing. Look at 2001 when we played Tenn. UF got into a BCS bowl and UT got left out, for all intents and purposes UT was one win away from the Rose Bowl so they controlled their own destiny. Then UF comes in and leapfrogs them. Also look what happened to Ark, West Champ ends up in the Music City Bowl!? They must not be a very desirable bowl team.

With our record of ticket sales and good travel, I would not be surprised to sometimes get a better bowl than we should because for the bowls, its all about the $$$$. Now that Cotton Bow is at 2pm I wouldnt mind it so much, 10am kickoff was just a bit much.

Ok...First of all, that prediction made no sense (having us in the Capital One Bowl) because it takes the SEC #2....

So...being Auburn is predicted to play in the Sugar Bowl (SEC Champ) then that would mean they beat us in the SEC title game?? ...and as we all know, 2 West teams cannot possibly play in that game...

So, once I saw that, his credibility went out the window with me.

#2 doesn't mean 2nd place it means 2nd pick. The SECs bowl selection is based of order of pick not finish. If it did mean #2 then he could be assuming that the #1 & #2 teams are from the West and the #1 in East is #3 overall. Just as Bayou pointed out, Ark was the #2 ranked team out of the SEC by virtue of losing the SECCG. But the went to the 7th or 8th picked bowl.

Thanks for the correction. You're right, I had forgotten what bowl Arkansas played in last season...
