This. I don't know where your friend is getting boudin in New Iberia. I grew up there and I never had boudin that even came close to the Best Stop in Scott. Ronnie's here in BR on Florida makes some pretty good boudin too. Best Stop still reigns supreme as far as I am concerned though.
during football season, pod keeps me supplied in boudin from dave's in new iberia. good stuff! :thumb:
Ah. I don't remember Dave's boudin in particular but pretty much everything else in there is delightful. Perhaps I'll give them another try next time I go home.
I prefer my boudin from either Dave's Quality Meats or Legnon's Boucherie, both in NI. It's not the best i've tasted, but it's what i grew up on. Kinda like how store bought is never as good as mom used to make it. When on the road to houston, The Best Stop in scott is worth going out of the way to pick up a few links. And lets face it, it's hard to make a "bad" boudin
I disagree. Nothing worse then getting boudin and the rice is not fully cooked, or it is ALL rice, or has that fake plastic casing, or they forgot any seasoning. Just sayin, there is plenty of bad boudin to geaux around.
Besides the boudin from the Best Stop, their cracklins are very good too. I could eat my weight in cracklins alone.
It's "Cracklins" in Ms. but "Gratons" down the Bayou. (But way down the bayou and across the big duck pond, it's Chicharrones.)
i was gonna have boudin today for lunch but didnt get around to it. (hopefully i'll have some for lunch tomorrow.) but i started wondering.... what's better? boudin, or a good sausage?
