    great story!

"It was 1959," Manning says. "I was 10 years old, sitting in the living room listening to the game with my daddy. We were hanging on every play. Ole Miss led 3-0 seemed like forever and then you know what happened. Cannon scored the winning touchdown on that punt return and then LSU had the goalline stand. The crowd was so loud, you could barely hear the announcers.

"I cried and cried and then I went to bed and turned on my radio and back then they played a replay of the game. I listened to it again — all the way through — and it was still 7 to 3. So then I cried again. I cried myself to sleep that night. I'll never forget it."

And, he says he remembers little of the 61-17 debacle against one of the greatest LSU defenses. Sigmund Freud would have a blast with this whopper.;)

There will be plenty of time for Eli to shed some tears after the game.

You know Ole Miss did come back and shut LSU out 21-0 that same year in the Sugar Bowl, and the LSU people said they were scared to play them again but had to because of pollitics at the time. Also when LSU beat Archie 61-17 he was playing with a broken arm.You didn't mention he won both times he play LSU when he was healthy.Typical Tiger post, don't include all the facts.

Says Finney, "Paul Dietzel (the LSU coach) wasn't dumb. No way, he wanted to play Ole Miss again. He basically had no choice because of politics."

None of which has ANYTHING to do with the stomping Ole Miss is going to take THIS Saturday...but that's just another excuse. And you know what excuses are like...everybody's got one and they all stink.

Who's making a excuse about this Saturday? You must be getting some post nobody is getting because I don't see where anyone is making a excuse for this Saturday.I stated a fact he played with a BROKEN ARM.Not something that helps QB's you know and when he was healthy he won both times. No excuses here.

You're making excuses for something that happened 33 years ago. The only reason you're not making excuses for this year's game is that it's not Sunday morning yet. However, given the way you've come on our board and run your piehole, I'm sure
that come Sunday morning you WILL have a ton of excuses. But
that's right...we won't be hearing them, because you won't be showing your face around here.

BTW, just why DID Johnny Vaught play a crippled Archie Manning
in a game that had so much riding on it? Did your QB depth suck THAT bad?

As a Saints fan, I'll always love Archie. In an NFL full of Keyshawns, Archie is sorely missed.
