I think he is a great d cordinator, but i dont not believe he has the ability to be a good head coach and i don not see a better up and coming defence than the one he is running at LSU i might be one of the few but i hope this whole staff stays intact for many years LSU!
Eventhough I can't vote, I think he will be gone (upgrade to pros or college head coach) either this year or after next. I think CLM foresaw this and used the possible D-coord. position as his selling point to get Dunbar to come back to LSU. :geauxtige
How long was he at Nebraska? How long was he at OK? I think he needs to stay at LSU for at least 3 maybe 4 years to pad his resume. He will need to prove he can maintain success and recruit his own players to be considered for a top-notch head coaching job. JMO
It seems like I read somewhere where he didn't want to go back to the Pro's... At any rate, he is very unhappy with the media here & if the money is right, I think he's gone.
oddly enough though... he's is being talked about in a VERY positive way by the national media... its the LOCAL media that give him a hard time.... :hihi:
Personally, I think Bo for sure and Jimbo might leave. Bo goes to Nebraska after the Callahan reign is over, or maybe Arkansas. And now that Tranquill has announced he is leaving NC, Buntings job may be less than secure. I don't know if Jimbo could get that spot, or the Arkansas job if LSU finishes strong, but I would be surprised if his agent is working hard. You get passed over and it doesn't take long to start looking around.
Miles was great at going out to get some great hires for coaches. His assistants at OSU were pretty loyal to him, and he was loyal to them but not to a fault. I think this bodes well for keeping good staff here. The question with both Pellini & Jimbo is if they want to stay as DC & OCs, respectively. If they do, they'll stay here, otherwise...
