lie. you can say whatever you want. aww other people call your vacation by the name you dont like? poor thing. awww, how terrible. me too. awww, poor guy is offended. not true. we are a nation of immigrants, always have been. fine oh, i see, your culture is the real american culture. and america is a country founded on freedom more than anything. as a free country we have no official language. people should speak whatever they want. if you want to live in a country where people whine over the "correct" culture being overwhelmed, move to france. you speak english, not everyone does. maybe you should learn spanish. we have been over this many times. i am busy tonight and have not time for it. i have never even heard of anyone who was offended by the stars and stripes. this article is embarassment to the english language.
Gave into him??? martin is right. America does not have a distinct national culture. We certainly are not an English speaking nation. If you think otherwise you are completely ignorant to history. While I do agree that PC sucks, to say immigrants should give up their cultural identity is the dumbest thing ever.

my personal racist immigrant race ranking, on a scale of nice and friendly to mean and terrible: best: africans from africa who are not pushy street vendors. white south africans jamaicans (Hooray beer!) japanese (the young girls are hot and they always giggle and love gadgets) latin americans who arent caught up in national pride. indians (india) chinese french jews worst: pakistani store owners. award for dumbest immigrant minority group: vietnamese. any attempt by a vietnamese person to say an english word is a hilarious disaster. french people are not really immigrants, or i dont know of any, i just put them on the list because i dont like them. i like germans, the tourists always wear adidas shirts and weird eyeglasses. sexiest milfs: women from spain. they have a posse of them that live in my building. they lay around in their bikinis all the time with their skinny european bodies. they sound so much classier when they speak spanish than latin americans. latin americans speak ghetto spanish ebonics. spain is classy. white south africans are so nice. think about the famous ones. ernie els, charlize theron, dave matthews. so gentlemanly or elegant. of course these are generalizations, and as such, are mostly meaningless. just my opinion. kenyans are so nice. pakistanis smell terrible and are ornery as F.
There is no question that the dominant culture in America used to be that of Western European-Christian people. That is no longer the case. I personally think that is unfortunate as western civilization has a lot of advantages.....it wasn't perfect but all in all but I think it is better than anything else there is to offer. A lot of people feel like the changes in the culture have been negative and associate that with immigration, liberal mind-set, etc. It seems ungrateful to me, at the least, to paint those who liked American culture the way it used to be as backward or bigoted. There were some good points in having the kids say prayers in school, in most people being influenced by a belief in God. Say for example, teenage sex......I'm not saying it didn't always go on to some degree but does anyone not think the society is completely drenched in sex now? I guess I'm a prude but I wasn't under the impression that man's greatest accomplishment was getting laid.
