Billy Bennett GA tried to ruin LSU band show at SECCG halftime

Just heard that Billy Bennett went out on the field, with the approval of his coaches, and tried to warm up during the half-time of the SECCG, when the LSU band was on the field. Jill Arrington of CBS had to go out and pull him off the field. No one reported this. Heard on Blake Andrew's show on 1210 from a fan who saw it. No press coverage of the action--CBS didn't want to make a big deal of it.

He's a kicker! Someone should have just thumped him on the helmet and he would have fallen down! That little bastard needs an ass kicking, plain and simple.

When I was in band, that happened pretty often--as long as they get out of the way, it's no big deal. A current band member told me Bennett moved when they started to move to the endzone--I didn't hear anything about Arrington being involved.

The only reason Duval was so reviled was b/c he stayed in the way, and even walked toward and through the band (a big no-no!)

    thanks for the information

I am glad to get the clarification. I figured if the coaches were watching the whole thing going on there might be some possible justification, but the fan said that Bennett tried to move but still was in the way and Arrington went out and told him to stop. I wasn't there so I can't verify.

He went out on the field and started kicking with the band on the opposite side. The band had to come back thru the endzone where he was kicking. As they started marching back toward him, he walked off the field slowly and the band came within about 5 feet of running into him. When the band passed him by about 5 feet he went back on the field and was going to start kicking before they exited and thats when they told him to get off. I did not think it was Jill but another that told him to get off. I was waiting for someone to throw a drink or something at him. I was hoping for somebody to pelt that little fag.

The incident ticked me off, as well as some of the UGA fans sitting around me.

Regardless of whether the Jill thing is true, does anyone doubt that Jill could physically pull that little guy off the field.

Although being manhandled by Jill might not be such a bad thing.

I was there and watched this guy try to fill a DL's pants with his 125 pound frame and mophead. He went out and kicked while the band was on the opposite end of the field. In his defense, he MAY have thought the band was leaving on the opposite side. But they turned around and headed back to the LSU end. He SLOWLY strode towards the sideline and stopped between the end of the band and the color guard on the sideline. He proceeded to setup his little tee on about the 10 or 15 yard line and was going to kick from there INTO THE BAND. We were saying, what an asshole...

One of the band directors (the lady, but I don't know her name) proceeded to grab him by the arm and "escort" him off the field. If he had not had his helmet on, she could have grabbed him by his ear.

What cheezed me off the most is that he saw the band coming back and he was going to kick through them. In the end as the band was finishing up at the back of the endzone, he proceeded to kick into the net where the ball could fall onto the band.

Another class individual. Not sure what it is about some of these little 120 pound kickers who think they are bigger than the game...

    yeah i was there.
i saw the whole thing. After the whole incident and the band was mostly off the field he started to kick while the band was still playing the last notes. All the students were pissed. He ended up shanking one, missing the net. It went into the fans, and they started throwing the ball around, like they do in tiger stadium. They would have trown it out if it was not a dome. The ball ended up in at least the next level up.

Sounds like Linda Moorhouse took care of the punk. I have no doubt she could handle him.
