In my opinion was Skip telling the media we had a 'long' list that contained 'huge' names. It will be a while before things shake out and find out if in fact we interviewed a 'long' list ...or whether we had 'huge' names calling.

But one thing that cannot be disputed is that categorizing the search in that manner increased expectations to the point where he was setting the school up for disappointment.

Our expectations were going to be high anyway, no doubt, but that 'kicked it up a notch' with the rumors that were circulating. Anything less than a current top 10 school's coach leaving to come here or a current or successful former NFL head coach would have (and did) disappointed.

Despite that, Les Miles is a good coach and good recruiter that runs a clean program that focuses on character developement and academic success as well as overall personal and football success. I'm glad we didn't settle for a great coach with character flaws, we got a good coach with strong character that will represent the school in an honorable way.

Who knows, he's never had this amount of talent to coach...and he may very well turn out to be a great coach too.

Traits his predecessor had as well. Let's hope for the best.

I agree, especially about the character part

I don't really want an offense guy as HC, and I don't know if I think Miles is good enough BUT one thing I am thrilled about--we didn't take Petrino, who is clearly willing to cut corners (the Tuberville fiasco), and we chose someone who runs a clean program. That is something I have loved during the Saban era--no more Cecil Collinses making the LSU team look like a reform school program. I am for Coach Miles having lots of success, but I am sincerely concerned about his defense, and hope it's true that Will Muschamp is staying.
