Most people seem to prefer John Lennon's post Beatles solo but I think my edge goes to McCartney. Of course, he's had a much longer career and may never be able to reach Lennon's legendary status (those that die young have that added aura). While I know many of McCartney's post Beatles songs, I don't know his best albums, era, etc. While it would never happen, I'd love to see a collaboration between Paul/Ringo and Page/John Paul Jones (and Plant if he surprisingly wanted to do it.)
McCartney has outlived Lennon by 33 years and has made 22 studio albums and another 20 compilations, soundtracks, and oddball stuff. The best ones are . . . Band on the Run London Town Venus and Mars Flowers in the Dirt Ram Here is my chronological McCartney playlist. 1 Another Day 2 Maybe I'm Amazed 3 Junk 4 Smile Away 5 Monkberry Moon Delight 6 Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey 7 Heart Of The Country 8 Eat at Home 9 The Back Seat Of My Car 10 C Moon 11 My Love 12 Live And Let Die 13 Band On The Run 14 Jet 15 Mrs. Vandebilt 16 Let Me Roll It 17 Mamunia 18 Helen Wheels 19 Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five 20 Rock Show 21 Magneto And Titanium Man 22 Listen To What The Man Said 23 Silly Love Songs 24 Let 'Em In 25 Mull Of Kintyre 26 Cafe On The Left Bank 27 Deliver Your Children 28 Backwards Traveller 29 I've Had Enough 30 With A Little Luck 31 Morse Moose And The Grey Goose 32 Getting Closer 33 Coming Up 34 Bogey Music 35 Take It Away 36 Ballroom Dancing 37 Say Say Say38 This One 39 My Brave Face 40 Put It There 41 Hope of Deliverance 42 Young Boy 43 Promise to You Girl 44 Dance Tonight 45 Ever Present Past 46 Sun Is Shining 47 Freedom 48 No Other Baby
Thanks, I recognize about half of the songs and will check out the other half when I get a chance. I still haven't made it all the way through the good suggestions from the Louisiana music thread a couple of months ago. I have some catching up to do.
Busted. Juniors Farm belongs on the playlist. McCartney did a ton of singles that never appeared on albums. He also recorded under pseudonyms like Percy Thrillington and The Fireman.
