According to CFN it is Tommy Cassanova ( http://www.collegefootballnews.com/Top_100_Players/Top 100 Players.htm ). 53rd Best in the Nation All Time. Cannon comes in at 102.

I've only been following LSU since 98, but the best player I've seen was Domanick Davis. Josh Reed was also really good. I've heard Cecil Collins was the most talented never to make it big, but I never got to see him play.

I think we are talking about football only.

Cecil Collins was the most talented running back with a football under his arm that I had seen in ALL of college football since Herschel Walker. Bar none. And that includes guys like Bo Jackson, Emmett Smith, and Barry Sanders. Cecil seemed able to run for 200 yds against any opponent of his choosing.

My pick for greatest LSU player of all time? I'm still partial to Dalton Hilliard.
I also wouldn't have any arguments with Casanova, Rohan Davey, Tom Hodson, or Bert Jones.

It's a long-shot wildcard, but how about Josh Reed?

This guy seemed to get 15-20 catches a game if he wanted to...

But now for a more realistic pick, I would say probably Casanova is a good choice or Y.A Title maybe.

Couldn't agree more. The guy was an absolute marvel. I would consider him in the same league as Walker and Bo Jackson. To me, the Cecil the Diesel is the Best ever. Certainly not the greatest (by a longshot), but the best I've ever seen. In all fairness, I barely missed seeing YA Tittle and Cannon and Jones play (OK, so it was by a couple or few decades.)
