Would like to hear your opinions on the best Italian restaurants in BR.

I am planning our trip and would like some recommendations.

I'll ditto Ginos and Ruffinos. Never been to Vincents.

I miss the old Pinettas. The current incarnation doesn't have the old Serbian chef in the kitchen anymore and it just ain't the same.

I used to eat at Ginos when I lived in BR, so it's nice to hear it is still a good place to eat.

    I have never tried Ruffinos.

There really isn't top-shelf Italian in Baton Rouge, unfortunately, but those are the best of what there is.

I was leaving chains out of the discussion, but yeah, Portobello's is OK. If we are including chains then Carrabba's must be included.

Ha, didn't even realize it was a chain. Regional?

I don't think Portobello's is a "chain", both locations are locally owned. Kiva's at Bocage is also a very nice place, white linen Italian dining.
