I beg to differ, I have been to all of those restaurants on the list, and non did a veal parmiegian as well as Vincent's
Ate at Gino's Sat. night and it's the best. Had this veal chop cooked with this rosemary olive oil mix.......damn good. Fiance had a steak with cheese and shrimp on it. Excellent as well. Vincents is good, Ruffinos is good. But Ginos is the best Italian. It separates itself from the rest.
I agree that Vincent's does a damn fine veal parm, but I believe it to be a distant second to Nino's. And I have never had a better caesar salad in my life than what is served at Nino's.
That's your opinion. As for mine, my HS graduation dinner was at Gino's. I chose a seafood/ fettucine alfredo dish which tasted awful. The fish smelled and tasted like it had been sitting on the counter all day to rot. I have eaten at Vincent's a number of times, most recently for my 2nd wedding anniversary. We had crab cakes, and an artichoke w/shrimp appetizer, and both tasted fresh and excellent. I then got a grilled (not sure what kind of fish it was) seafood dish w/ pasta, and the fish was excellent, fresh and first rate. Vincent's not only is better than Gino's, it bends it over and has its way with the restaurant. Atmosphere, wine list, service, food, everything is better than Gino's. Heads and shoulders.
I went w/ my old standby date place of DiGiulio's, but man, it's sure hard to vote against the Bruscialuna (sp?) at Kiva's. DiGiulio's wins out because of it's atmosphere. A great Italian restaurant should give me the feeling that I could go to the Men's room, reach behind the toilet, and find the revolver that Clemenza taped there an hour ago. That's DiGiulio's.
