Whats your favorite place to get a fried seafood platter? The best I have ever eaten is at Sportsman's Paradise in Cocodrie. Speckled trout, shrimp, crab & oysters all caught fresh the same day and fried to a lightly golden color in a light coating of their own mix of fish fry ingredients Sportsmans's Paradise is located near the end of a highway to nowhere about 30 or so miles south of Houma so you would never go there unless you were on a fishing trip.
Some of you might say "I don't eat fried food." If thats your preference what is your favorite broiled seafood platter place? I love a good broiled platter too but right now I can't think of where the best one is.
The best I ever had was at (no longer open) Las' of Henderson. That batter was just awesome. No one has ever come close. I've been to Pat's, Prejean's, Don's... (in BR) Ralph and Kacoos and Mike Andersons. I will never again be satisfied until I find another one like Las'.
Mike Andersons has the best in Baton Rouge, I think. I took a bunch of yankees there who were in town for a meeting. Some of them were from New England and knew good seafood, but they were freakin' awed at the size of the platter and how high it was piled with quality food. The "Crawfish seven ways" dish also impressed them.
I've always liked Middendorf's fried seafood, especially the thin-cut catfish. Best seafood in all of Pass Manchac.
There was a place right on the water in Daytona and the seafood in Florida SUX so this is a big step for me but their fried seafood is outstanding...but they got blown away so now I have no choice but coming home for good food
