Yes, because the only factor was the strength of schedule.

USC's complaint is not with LSU. It is with the fact that OU lost by 28 ponts and still got to go to the Sugar. OU is the fraud.......not LSU.

No team that loses the last game of the season by 28 points should ever play for any version of a National Championship.

    That's USC's complaint.

    Golfdude -
That is their complaint with this scenario. Had OU taken care of business their ass would still be in the rose bowl and it would be the Tigers getting the brunt of the complaints. Either way they were screwed.
There is much more honor losing to #8 K State than 7-6 Cal.

    Agreed. No other scenarios matter.
No....there is honor is neither. Especially by 28 points.

Actually if OU had dropped to 4th in both human polls we'd still be in. I saw where a writer said USC did everything they needed to get to the Sugar Bowl. I disagree. Beating Cal might have helped!

If OU had BARELY lost Kansas State, and had fallen to #2 in one or both human polls, while USC jumped to #1 and LSU stayed at #3, THEN LSU would have been left out of the Sugar Bowl.

USC's major complaint is a bogus one. They scream "we are #1 in BOTH polls and are being left out of the NC game". They are #1 in THREE of NINE polls and are not in the NC game. I will shout this from the rooftops as often as needed.

SabanFan hit the nail on the head, 3 of 9 polls have them at #1.
People need to realize that the HUMAN polls don't rule the BCS, they are only part of it now. They do not say who is #1-whatever,
their crying is bulls$#$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The BCS is the system that all
agreed to ranks the teams, they are just unhappy their bias won't
    name USC the National Champs.

The "masses" only see three "polls".
AP, ESPN Coaches and the BCS Rankings.
