BCS to Eliminate AQ status starting in 2014?

    I'm all for it. If you win, you're in. The SEC may even benefit from it though we already send dam near every team to a bowl.

    This has all to do with the demolition of the Big East conference.

    They can no longer award an automatic bid to that middling conference.

    I love the idea of eliminating the "AQ" and "non-AQ" labels... while a true playoff is really needed, at least if there were no more automatic qualifying conferences we'd stop being stuck with a crappy Cincinnati team that's barely in the top 25 taking up a BCS berth.

    Why keep taking baby steps towards a playoff system? Just cut the shyt and go to an 8-10 team playoff!

    I don't think money is a valid argument for avoiding a playoff anymore. A playoff would yield more games, and therefore more money.
