I think we all know that 2 of the top 3 teams need to lose for LSU to entertain thoughts of Pasadena, but I made an unpleasant discovery while reading the T-P this morning online. Ted Lewis quotes Jerry Palm as saying LSU may not pass Penn St., even though the Tigers have 3 games remaining (with one a likely game versus a top 15 Georgia team) and Penn St has only one against a 5-5 team. All the more reason for this offense to hang some serious points on its next two opponents, IMO, and winning comfortably in Atlanta over a "home" Georgia team wouldn't hurt, either. Time to start taking votes from Penn St in the human polls, since the computers are doing us no favors.
penn state shouldnt look ahead at all....michigan state may be down but they can still score and they are playing for a bowl bid.....look for a upset.
I agree, no telling how Michigan State could play. They could equally blow out Penn State or get blown out by Penn State, no consistency in that program.
I honestly don't get how we beat Florida, Bama and Auburn (all ranked,) an ASU team that was ranked (and playing like it) at the time and, I don't care what anyone says, a scrappy App State team with a pretty damn good offense and we've beaten "no one." That's all I keep hearing from every media source. I understand that we're LSU and not USC, but still, how can you say that?
The Bottom Line, UNFORTUNATELY, is that even if we would have beaten Tenn, we would still be only as good as #3. Then we would be sitting in the same spot that Auburn was in last year. That would be a tough pill to swallow.... :geauxtige
has something to do with us winning close games. aside from the 2 cupcakes we haven't dismantled anyone this year that counts. that is why we lose points in the polls. the dumbass writers see Penn blow out Michgan and they figure that they MUST be good because it was Michigan that they blew out.
We will pass Penn St. if we beat UGA... I have heard the Edwards kid on ESPN say it thousands of times
Michigan 27, PSU 25.... or were you just speaking in tongues. Most voters look at PSU's loss AT Michigan and resolve that it is a more explanable loss than LSU losing AT home to Tennessee.... especially considering Michigan is now 7-3 and Tennessee is now 4-5. To some "dumbass writers" this makes complete sense.
