BCS Strength of Schedule question

I've seen several people saying that the BCS does not allow having say Georgia's SOS added twice. I am aware of the fact that the Quality Win points don't count twice, but I was pretty sure the SOS counts.

Can anyone confirm this either way?

That is an interesting question that would be another indiotic element of the BCS if we don't get to include the record of Georgia twice in the SOS calcs. The SOS should reflect the strength of the opponents that you play. If you play a team twice, then that should be reflected in your SOS.

Okay, looking at the official BCS strength of schedule rules, I never see any mention that a team can't count twice in the SOS computation, but they do explicitly say it in the Quality win segment.

Based on this, I'm going to assume that Georgia would count a second time because I've also never heard any of the experts say it wouldn't count a second time.

My understanding is that it does, on balance, though keep in mind each individual computer poll's approach to SoS computation may vary.

Yes, my understanding is that it does affect SOS twice, just not Quality Win points.
