Man all they had to do was pick Michigan and that would have started a wildfire the College football world needed big time. LSU would have ended up in Rose, Florida to Sugar and the SEC would have taken on a rage hopefully big enough to cause a rift in college football to force a playoff system of some sorts. Now everyone is gonna say how well it worked out and things will stay status quo for who knows how long. Dang B
Michigan has to be upset. Not only are they not playing for the title, they have to play USC again in the Rose Bowl. Yawwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnn!!! I'm sure they were at least hoping for a Michigan-LSU game if not playing for the title.
I agree! All the dumb -@:?es voting in the human polls had 2 do was 2 make Michigan number 2 and we would have finally had a playoff! Now who knows how long we will have to wait!
Please... USC thought they got dogged in 2003, did anything change? Auburn got the worst hose job ever in 04, did anything change? What did the SEC do about it that year. Nothing. And Auburn was completely undefeated and killing teams for the most part in that year (except LSU). Michigan kind of got it this year. It's more likely to help with that team getting the bad end this year. Florida getting hosed would have been just like Auburn getting hosed. It seems like every other year people say that the BCS is finished because some team gets left out. Well, is it finished yet? No. But the more it happens to USCs & Miiiiiichigans of the world (media darlings), the more likely it is we will see some decent changes in the coming years.
Aside from the $hitburger Auburn had to eat in 04, it seems that a conference championship game win is THE deciding factor in jumping schools from conferences with no champ game....it was for us in 03 and this year Fla. If OSU and Michigan played another game to decide conference champs and Michigan won...they could be playing Fla for the title instead.

And you are correct that another Rose Bowl against USC is putting all of our feet to sleep. Many Michigan fans were very excited by the prospect of playing LSU in the Rose Bowl. I'd even prefer to play LSU in the Sugar Bowl, but the bowl tie-ins don't allow a 3 vs. 4 matchup. What a mess! I've enjoyed your site and know that you'll crush the Irish!
Let down !!! GUYS ITS A BCS GAME. If LSU comes out Let Down then our coaches need a kick in the pants. This is a big honor to be playing in the Sugar Bowl. Geaux Tigers. This is awesome. And 2003 has nothing to do with this year, different teams, we already won the trophy. Awesome, I am pumped plus it will be MUCH cheaper on the ole wallet.
I am praying with every fiber in my body for Florida to win by no more than 2-3pts on some EXTREMELY controversial call late in that game, and Michigan to completely violate USC publically. I'm talking a 40 pt thrashing. That way the AP would give their title to UM, and the BCS would give theirs to FLA. A second spilt title in 3 will help the cause somewhat.
