1. Missouri loses to Kansas State
    Missouri beats Kansas
    Missouri beats OU

    OR

    TTech or OSU beats OU
    Missouri beats Kansas
    OU beats Missouri

(Missou or OU wins Big 12 with 2 losses, Kansas drops like crazy with their 1 loss)

    USC beats ASU
    Cincy or UConn beats WVU
    Michigan beats OSU

LSU vs a 2 loss team (Missouri, in this scenario)

If LSU loses to lets say Arkansas or SEC CG, it could still be LSU vs Missouri (both with 2 losses)

What about the scenario that the winner of Georgia and LSU SEC CG plays for the National Championship?

PS - Mods please correct my thread title (entertain)
  2. I am not sure what question you are alluding to.

And it is not true that you must win your conference championship.

LSU, theoretically, could lose to Tennessee in the SEC CG, for instance and still stay in the top 2 in the BCS, with all the other teams with 2 losses already (as listed in my original post).

Then the BCS could look like:

    1. Missouri
    2. LSU
    3. USC
    4. Oklahoma
    5. Kansas
    6. Georgia
    7. Virginia Tech
    8. Florida
    9. Tennessee
    10. Texas
    11. W. Virginia
    12. Ohio State

USC left out in the cold once more at the hands of LSU, and due to the computer polls....again

LSU would be the OU of 03. Missouri would be the LSU. USC would be the....well....the USC.
  3. That's just to automatically make it into a BCS bowl game. If you win your conference, you go to a BCS bowl game. You are not entitled, however, to be invited to the BCS title game. Rule #1 is all that matters and decides that issue.

A lot of talk was surrounding winning your conference to make it to the title game after 03, but absolutely nothing was done about it.
  4. Top 2 in the rankings go regardless if they win their conference or not. Remember the OSU/UM talk all year until UF overtook UM after the SECC.

BTW, Colt Brennan is out for the Nevada game because of a concussion suffered last week. They cleared him yesterday but now they changed their minds. If they take a loss, they will be eliminated from the Sugar Bowl picture because they will drop out of the top 12.

Sorry to go of course but did not want to start a new thread.
  5. Not likely this year but it could play out that way in future years.
  6. No, I think the year you are referring to is happening as we speak.

For all we know, an undefeated and #1 ranked Kansas may barely lose to a 1 loss OU and then play a rematch for the NC. (all that has to happen is Kansas beat Mizzou and LSU lose a game...anybody doubt that can happen?)
  7. Let's hope that doesn't happen. I don't think anyone outside of flyover country (j/k) wants to see that.
