Here’s my main thought. So much of a middle linebacker’s job is filling gaps. And it’s really easy to fill gaps when the big men in front of you are capable of eating two blocks at a time. So, sure, LSU loses Davon Godchaux and Lewis Neal next season.

But freshman stud Ed Alexander is coming back, as is starting nose tackle Greg Gilmore. Plus, the Tigers will get Christian LaCouture back after he missed all of 2016 with an injury. And Arden Key isn’t going anywhere. Throw in the potential of 5-star Marvin Wilson joining the group and you get the deepest-and most-dangerous unit on LSU’s roster.

With that much depth and talent, LSU’s defensive line is going to be borderline unblockable.
