With all of the hubbub about players leaving the team around here recently, I think it is worth mentioning that one of the best coaches in the country, Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, has the same problem. Can you imagine the uproar if a former McDonald's All-American decided to transfer away from LSU?

its a good thing TE isn't a Duke fan.

Can u imagine all the bad things he'd come up with about Mike
    Krzyzewski?

Among which would be, "he hasn't won a title lately"

    :)

    TE , where are you???????????

    Very simple...

It's not a big deal at Duke because they run a squeaky clean program with a coach that never rebuilds, only reloads...

It's not a big deal because they have plenty of talent, and while we have some, we need all we can get, coming off of probation, and with a full alottment of scholarships, that's how many that have left so far?

    They lost one...

    We've lost multiple...

They are Duke, and for them-IT'S FRONT PAGE NEWS!
We are LSU, and we think it's just another fact of life...

Mike Krzyewski has never done the things and said the things that Brady has off the court...

Sourdoughman, as far as all the bad things I could say about Krzyzewski...Let me ask you this...

What was the worst team in recent Duke basketball history?

Is it just coincidence that Coach K had "unavoidable" back surgery DURING THE SEASON that he absolutely COULD NOT PUT OFF, and handed what most considered the worst team in his tenure over to his assistant coach?

Only to come back recruiting like gangbusters the next year magically 100% with a new team full of new faces to start winning again?

I noticed it, but I guess you guys didn't...

    Actually,

I was just kidding around talking about all the bad things about
    thier coach.

I don't know what the worst team in Duke history, or recent for
    that matter.

I do know we are not Duke and recruits from around the country
aren't knocking down the doors to get in like they do at Duke.

Like I said the other day:
I don't want kids to stay here when they get the slightest bit of
    adversity and decide to leave.

Just because they aren't going to play right away.

    Oh, I'm going to leave.......................

We don't need those kind of kids, kids should think I didn't make
it as a starter, I should find a way to get better so that I can play
    or start.

You could say that Brady wasted a scholarship I suppose.
But you never know how a kid will react to adversity.

John Brady has to do whatever he can to get the basketball
program out of the ashes of the past.

If they means recruiting a questionable kid until he can get more
blue chips interested, So be it.

It wasn't that many years ago when kids didn't transfer as much
    and they stuck it out.

Faced thier challenges and troubles head on and not run away.

I saw a special on a kid that plays football somewhere, not that
long ago, I don't remember who he's playing for.

He was going to transfer and his mother talked him out of it.

He is having a real good year and his mother came down with
    cancer.

Who's to say he would've had a good year if he transferred or
    even started.

At least now he can spend time with his mom and enjoy the success vs playing somewhere else and ?

It's kinda like Trev Faulk and other kids leaving early:

They get to the next level and ................
    don't make it.........
    a brand new ball game....................

Oh, I wish I could've played that last year or

    I wish I would've stuck it out.

It always looks greener on the other side............

Sourdoughman, Trev Faulk & Nick Saban were at each other's throats for most of his junior year...

He resigned his captaincy of the team on four separate occassions, only to be talked back into it by others.

Say what you want, but he didn't leave because he was ready for the next level. He left because he couldn't coexist with Nick Saban...

As for B-Ball, during our probation, I put a premium on kids who we KNOW are going to stick it out in our program for the long haul. Kids who make the graduation rate look good, who can contribute and stay the entire period. Basically, we look for great kids with great attitudes and the ability to be coached.

I don't EVER want a questionable kid brought into our program, and it's been a hallmark of the current coaching staff's philosophy...I don't care for it, and there are many other things I don't care for, but that's all I'll say about that...

I didn't know about Nick and Trev.

I know where your coming from but I think It'll take us a little
    time to get there.

Duke has the advantage over us, they reload.
We have to rebuild, especially after probation.

We haven't been known as Duke has in basketball.

But no matter what, John Brady doesn't have the name or the
Longevity that Dale Brown had in his tenure.

I can agree with your response but I don't think you can ever
KNOW how a kid will respond to certain conditions.

The Trev thing was just an example of college sports now days
    in general anyway.

Kids transfering or leaving early and then thier world collapses
    on them.

I think this happens way too much and it hurts most kids more than it helps them.

Kinda like the grass is always greener on the other side

    1981 Duke 17-13 6-8 (t5) NIT
    1982 Duke 10-17 4-10 (t6)
    1983 Duke 11-17 3-11 (7) ---
    1984 Duke 24-10 7-7 (t3) NCAA Tournament
    1985 Duke 23-8 8-6 (t4) NCAA Tournament

    85-65 .566

This is Mike Krzyzewski's record his first 5 years at Duke. Not exactly setting the world on fire, even with a team not on probation for the first few years.

    1997 LSU 9-18 2-14 (6th)
    1998 LSU 12-15 4-12 (6th)
    1999 LSU 28-6 12-4 (1st) NCAA Sweet 16
    2000 LSU 13-16 2-14 (6th)
    2001 LSU 19-15 6-10 (4th) NIT
    2002 LSU 21-11 8-8 (2nd) NCAA

    102-81 .581

This is John Brady's 1st 6 years at LSU when he inherited a program scorched to the earth by NCAA probation. Now, I'm not saying that Brady is as good as Krzyzewski but just illustrating that it takes time to build a program from nothing. When Brady came here, he had absolutely NOTHING to work with and is finally getting the team on its feet.

On a side note, it is kind of annoying to have to cut and paste Krzyzewski's name every time. :D

As the great SabanFan once said, "I said I wasn't going to respond to junk put out by Brady bashers", but I have to add that no matter what anyone says good about Brady, people like TE are going to trash HIM.

I am still waiting for TE to put out on this forum his continued accusations of Brady's off the court antics that was done to embarrass the university and his team.

Are you insinuating a Larry Eustacy incident??? Do you have pictures to prove such??

Come on TE!! You can hide behind your keyboard and throw out accusations and innuendo about him. Frankly it is gutless, cowardly, and irresponsible to throw out personal attacks on someone based on heresay.

I would be very careful on your use of words in trying to damage a person's character or reputation in print in this forum or anywhere else I might add without solid fact based information. I hope the moderators of this forum will agree with me on this.

    I'm with MikeD and Jeffinbama,

The other day I also said that I wasn't going to respond but the
opportunity presented itself with the Duke player leaving and
I wanted everyone to understand where I stood.

I will NO Longer respond to TE's negative posts about John Brady
    and LSU Basketball.

I want to enjoy this season, its the first time we haven't been
short handed in a long time.
I also want to enjoy a very talented LSU basketball team this
    year.
    :)
