I just saw where Bama got a trasfer from a former LSU player, Rocky Scelfo.

How good of player is the guy? Thanks in advance.

I know he played his HS ball in the Lafayette area. I think he's a SS but may play 2B also. I want to say he transferred because he wouldn't ever play ahead of Aaron Hill. Hill proved this year he was 1st round talent.

Rocky's a very good middle infielder and played about 75% of the Tiger games as a freshman(I think that's a close guesstimate...it was at least 50%). He went to St Thomas More High School in Lafayette. I also think lsu99 had it right when he said he left because he could see the writing on the wall about not playing ahead of Aaron Hill. He then transferred to USL and then went to a JUCO somewhere in FLA until now. I think you guys are getting an exceptional player if he can keep his grades up...That was a rumor...about his grades. Don't know how true this is/was. Don't hold me to that!

Thanks for the info, one more question though.

Can he hit? Bama needs hitters in a BAD way.

    Rocky's last season w/the Tigers(2002)--he batted .269.
He started 31 games and played in 47. LSU played 66 games overall. You can get the rest of his stats for the 2002 season here:Rocky Scelfo 2002
