happened in today's practice. Supposedly, prognosis will not be known until MRI results are completed in a day or two. Hate to hear it. My disdain for Alabama aside, this kid - like Prothro -is destined for the next level and deserves a shot at it. Here's hoping it's not too serious.:thumb:
Have you heard anything about any SEC team losing a player for the season yet? Is it my imagination or is this the most injury-free August camp in several years? At least so far.
Wish I could include AU in that camp, but we've got a ton of injuries right now. So many that the annual fall full-scrimmage scheduled last Saturday was cancelled entirely. Mostly some nagging injuries, but at key positions. Lots of knees, hammies, and shoulders affecting both starters and depth. Depth was already thin at some positions due to suspensions, but now this. I agree, I haven't seen or heard about too many SEC injuries that fall into the season-ending variety, and that's a good thing! The O-lineman down at UF, the one that broke an ankle. Prothro not fully healed. The injury to McFadden.... those are prolly the worst I recall hearing about thus far.
That's tough for Darby. Hope it's not serious. He has a load on his plate already since his Dad is in ICU on life support at Huntsville (AL) Hospital. Darby left the hospital and returned to practice yesterday. My prayers are with this family.
Word is it was just a bruised knee. He is a really good ambassador for the SEC, and with all thats going on in his life, I hope he gets better soon. I may not like other SEC teams, but I dont wish anyone to have a serious injury, especially a senior.
He said over the weekend knowing he was in the thoughts and prayers of so many people it gave him strength. I appreciate your post, as does he. His father has had a couple of good days...and that was why he felt it was OK to return to the practice field. It isn't the first time KD has had something in his life that was dramatic, that required inner-strength to muster his way through. If this does end up falling in the "worse case scenario," and KD loses his dad, he'll fight his way through it. He's just "that kind of man." His father has had health problems for quite some time now...but, it wasn't as serious as it appeared the last week.
Terry, glad to hear his Dad is better. I hadn't heard that. Preliminary reports, supposedly from his high school coach who called him, is that Darby has a hyperextended knee and shouldn't miss any games. I hope that is the case.
"Better" is subjective. He's fought a long battle...and it just turned for the very worst this past week. I'm curious, where did you get these "preliminary reports?" His HS coach, is also one of the coaches that handles our summer camps each year. When I first heard about it, that is the person I went to "to get the scoop." 15 or so minutes later he posted that info on Tider Insider. I know there are a good amount of Auburn fans who have coughed up the $$ to join that site...was it on an Auburn forum or Alabama site?
From a friend who saw it on a bama board. That's the reason I used the caveat "supposedly" since I couldn't verify it 100%. I used to go to TI years ago but it got so bad you couldn't pay me to go there let alone pay them.
