They will have some close games, but they seem to have the right formula right now... Good QB who makes few mistakes.. decent running game... strong defense... They have to beat UT, Auburn, and LSU... and they have a chance in each of those games... will be interesting.. should they "roll", their prestige will put them in a title game no matter what... I think they will drop at least one (hopefully to LSU), but I am impressed by their recent win...
I think they are choke prone for one game this year. They are solid, but I see them as choking in one of their games. That still might be good enough to win the West.
...they've lost their best receiver, and Croyle is still very injury prone; We will continue to improve, and will be damn good by 11/12. I'm not ready to throw in the towel against bammer, just yet. We saw how good ASU is, yesterday. We opened against 2 very good opponents.:geauxtige
Bama still lacks depth because of the probation scholarship reductions. Their starters are as good as anybody's, but a couple of key injuries and they may be in trouble. The SEC is a tough league and depth wins it for most teams.
They looked great. I was extremely impressed by the defense. Pelini better watch that game over and over. Leak couldn't do anything. Bama exposed the flaws of that offense and Pelini has the recipe on film and he better copy it. I'm really worried about our defense against Florida, I'm still unsure if Pelini has the scheme and ability to counter the complex Florida offense. LSU should win this game and if we had the defense of 2003 and 2004 I would feel very good, but now I have a feeling we will have a very hard time with them. Bama's defense was awesome and our current play calling on O will need to be much more deceptive, creative, and varied to keep their defense off balance. Our offensive play calling is still very bland, predictable, and not creative. We should've opened up the play book and tried more plays to practice against MSU to ready the offense for future games. It will be easy for other D's to plan for our offense currently. That needs to change. That broken ankle on Prothro was sickening to watch. Even though I rewound it a couple of times, but the slomo on TV from the endzone was terrrible looking. They only showed that replay once. I really hated to see him go down. He was fun to watch, even though he probably would've burned our D a couple of times.
