Not entirely true. Although the overt jeering/spitting stuff was rarer than the legend hints at, the public apathy towards the military and the hippie-led protest targeting of military recruiting stations and ROTC detachments, and just the mistreatment and lack of respect shown average soldiers in uniform was so distasteful, that those who perpetrated it are themselves making damned sure they aren't doing again, even for "Bush's War". (Sorry for the runon)

They know who they are. They know it was wrong and misguided. They'll never publicly admit it. But their behavior during this last "unjust war" proves they're aware of their responsibilities.

is your position that obama has reversed this trend? he declined to change the bush wiretap policies, he has been doing everything he can to grow the size of government, he is taking over massive private companies, cranking up huge debt.

I was talking about economic freedom, i.e. capitalism.

Not a surprising response since you were one of the f'ing hippies.

not at all brotha, im actually kind of pissed off at obama for not eliminating the patriot act, nafta also hasn't been eliminated, he hasn't taken our soldiers out of iraq yet either which was probably why he was elected. Look, i voted for ideas not a person, and those ideas are not coming to fruition, so i will be just as critical of him as i was of Dubya until he does what he promised. I have said it many times and i will say it again, blind faith in bad leadership is not patriotism, and that goes for obama as well.

The problem is that it's a person that gets elected to the office not an idea. The "ideas" are just another word for campaign rhetoric, lies to get elected and political BS. If you're going in the booth and voting for something other than the person you might want to rethink your strategy. JMO

Well, if true, I salute you for that. Very few people pay enough attention to ideas and the vast majority vote for personality and image.

Of course, there is a difference between ideas and rhetoric.

Hardly a week goes by that I don't hear about Obama approving or pushing some new multi-billion dollar program. When does it stop? When the printing presses overheat from printing all that money? Now that Obama has taken over GM when does it stop? We are on the road toward socialism where the govenment owns all of the big businesses. Pretty soon all our fast food will come from McObama's and King Barack Burger. Will GM reintroduce the Oldsmobile as the 2011 Husseinmobile?

Yeah, I know what I'm talking about. I know what happened and what didn't.

This statement is laughable at best.

If you and the majority of our Republicans and Democrats would have actually followed the constitution and core conservative values then our toilet would be clean.

I hope in the coming years most of this trash is washed out of the toilet.
