This morning you posted on my forum that there was as state law which dictated LSU must play an instate school every year. I've ran into another Tiger fan who says that isn't the case.

When was this law passed? Does anyone have a link to a site talking about it?

    Thanks,

    T

Terry, I just found out I may have been mistaken, I read that on this board (And many seem to believe this) that it was indeed Louisiana law that LSU had to play instate schools, I have since learned that this was the work of our AD with influence from the state...

So I would also like to find out the actual answer, I read that here several times and took it as fact, but since then I have read some conflicting answers.

SO if anyone knows this IN FACT. I would like to know as well.

It's no law that I've ever heard of. Rather our current AD has the opinion that if we're going to have a "rent-a-win" game or two a year, one of the in-state schools should be one of them. Having 2 or 3 rent-a-wins can obviously be a bad thing for SOS though. Having teams pull out of their contracts at the last minute can cause problems and weaker schedules.

BrettStah has it correct, it was Skip's choice not state law.

I don't mind playing the in-state teams, just as long as we limit it to one a season. That way it wouldn't hurt our SOS so badly, and we still get to play a rent a win against a team Tiger fans actually want to see. I know I much rather have Tulane, LA Tech, ULM, or ULL over any Div 1AA team or some small Div 1A team no one has ever heard of. But only once a year, that should be a law!

There is no law requiring LSU to play anyone, in or out of state. Skip thought it was a good idea, as long as he was scheduling weak sisters, to schedule in-state weak sisters in order to keep the money here. That said, that's not why ULM was on the schedule this year (this was Tech's year) - it was because Marshall backed out and we needed a replacement.

No western Illinois was scheduled because Marshall backed out and there was no D1 School available.

ULM was schedule because we wanted a Warm Up game like Va Tech did to us last year...

Terry - Do I need to post a retraction ;) I dont want to get banned

During the end of the football season last year, it was posted on this forum (by Terry and many other Bama fans) that beloved Coach Fran wasn't going anywhere. Something about how his daughter was going to school at Bama, he loved Tuscaloosa, A&M would be a step down, etc. Anyway, I was just curious. Is his daughter still at Bama?

No she is at A&M... Realizing the Tradition means all male cheerleaders a Fan base who does not even know who their QB is yet knows how to sway back and forth.

A stadium that was hardly ever sold out, and what it feels like to look at the score board, read 77-0, and realize the opposing team is taking a knee with 8 minutes left in the 4th and is doing everything humanly possible to not score anymore.
