I am noticing more of a comfort with Coach Miles in the attitude of alot of the board lately with his second recruiting class and his first season as head coach behind him. I know there are still doubters and always will be but i think having gotten a chance to see him over a season and having a better feel for where the program is heading has allowed some people to relax a little. In the SEC there is little time to enjoy offseason for Coach's and you are only as good as your last game and last season ( Ask Cutcliffe at Ole Piss ) but i think most of us are happy with the direction of the program and really looking forward to next season and the team we have coming back. Would like to see us get a good DLine Coach in here and now is probably moved up to our 1st priority moving into spring. Thanks for a great year to all Coach's once again and lets keep it going.
I pull for LSU Basketball but i am not sure that LSU football ever ends for me. It continues through the other LSU teams season. Having said that lets get those BamaLama Ding dongs .
The attitude of the two previous posters is the reason why we will never be able to hire a big time basketball coach in Baton Rouge. People just don't care about it as much.
Which is fine. I am content with the coach we have. Especially now that he's gotten some time under his belt working with a full set of scholarships. Things are looking really good now.
I agree, but wouldn't you like at least the opportunity to hire someone with a lot of prestige? I dunno.....
Not really. What I would like is for the program to have the prestige. For example, I would rather not have a Bob Knight/Texas Tech type situation where one man is bigger than the program. While the program never lives up to expectations. Right now, things are lookign very promising for LSU's program. The quality of players has steadily improved and national awareness is coming back.
He finally looked like he was LSU's coach (to me) at the beginning of the Peach Bowl. I don't know why that struck me, but it did. At the beginning of the year he look unsure but seemed to settle in and now I openly accept him as our coach. I was unsure how he and the team would respond to the close games that make up the SEC season. It was a roller coaster but we finished 11-2, won the SEC West and finished in the top 10 polls. He has had a very good recruiting year but he will have 21 (I believe) seniors to replace and that will be harder than many people seem to want to accept. He seems to be a nice hire but at LSU it's "what have you done for me lately, Coach?"
I couldn't agree with you more. Football in the blood.....it's never "out of season"! :crystal: :geauxtige :crystal:
