What a special player. Sure would be nice to see him go to Houston so I could watch him and "Double D" play every Sunday (I live in Austin).

DALLAS -- LSU defensive tackle Chad LaValais, the leader of a unit that allows the fewest points in the nation, was named one of three finalists for the Outland Trophy.

Offensive tackles Robert Gallery of Iowa and Shawn Andrews of Arkansas are the other finalists for the award, which goes to the top interior lineman in college football. The finalists were announced Monday.

LaValais, a 289-pound senior, is the centerpiece of an LSU defense that allows only 10.6 points per game.

The Tigers, ranked third in the polls and third in the BCS Standings, play Georgia in the SEC championship game Saturday.

Gallery, a 320-pound senior, has been the top player on a Hawkeyes offensive line that lost four starters from 2002. Andrews is a 371-pound junior.
