Miles needs to take a page from the Steve Spurrier Book of Football... YOU DONT SIT ON A 21 POINT LEAGUE... you "put 50 up on these guys" and go to the house... a 3 and out in college football takes a whole 2 minutes... so yes, 21 points in a quarter is very doable... My philosophy is you don't call of the dogs until you put 50 on the chumps... Some people are saying that they didnt call off the dogs.. really? Run the ball and play bend, but dont break, zone defense... Miles seems, thus far, to lack a killer instinct.. If you are in a fight and you knock your opponent down, you dont step back and let him get his wind.. you kick him in the gut and finish him off...
It might have helped if the offensive scheme was capable of putting 50 on UT. That was no slouch D you guys faced on Monday. Remember that their offense basically gave you 14 points in the first half. I don't believe that the offensive scheme and the playcalling takes the talent you have into account. Miles is messing with Fisher too much. He needs to hand over the offense to Fisher and find a way to help Pelini.
You've seen the guy in one loss and one win and you have him all figured out. Gee, you're good. :dis:
There are a lot of experts here. It's funny none of them are in coaching. They have all of the answers.
I believe Tiger fans are upset that this team could very well be 0-2, that's an eery sound when you are supposed to have the 2nd best talent in the nation.
Hey Einstein. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out you should not sit on a 21 point lead against Tenn.
Good post. There's been alot of talk about not stretching the field like we have the ability to do. However, I'm starting to worry that's it's not Saban and Miles who are holding Fisher's reigns, i'm starting to worry it's been Jimbo all along. Last year's bubble screen is this year's 3 yd slant.
Hey red, I don't know if you were referring to my post or not, but to make a followup point: Miles was the coach at OSU for several years and he seems to have a knack for giving up the big lead. I am not judging just him on the two games at LSU. He has a body of work to draw from before he hit the bayou. By the way, you got some makeup rep from me yesterday. Please make sure it was positive this time. I am paranoid.
