Check it out. This is from 3 weeks ago. About 1:45 in, one of your very own Tiger Forums posters can be seen describing how to pick out a good 'choke. Rumor is he REALLY likes 'em. :thumb: http://www.ktvu.com/video/10736324/index.html?taf=fran
My wife is a Smith and her Father's name is John. They are from Belize and are spanish speaking, but the anglo name derives from Belize once being a British Colony (British Honduras).
I heard the audio but the video stopped on the harvestor in the field. I've never eaten an artichoke. I know this shows my ignorance but I'm going to ask anyway- how are they prepared and what are they served with.
There are tons of recipes for the hearts but my favorite is a stuffed artichoke. You take progresso bread crumbs, par. cheese, and crushed garlic and stuff the leaves. Steam them for 1 hour after 45 mins. pour a little olive oil on top. Then melp some butter and add lemon juice and dip stuuffed leaves. To get full affect of taste you must scrape the leaves with your teeth to get "meat" of leaf. This is my FAVORITE meal of all time and if anybody wants exact recipe I will be happy to share.
OK with all this talk we are now having stuffed artichokes for a super bowl appetizer today!! I can't wait!!
