I had 2 classes with Dr. Karam (they spelled his name wrong in the article) - intro to marketing and sports marketing.... excellent, excellent teacher!
Let's see, LSU professor, does media training, has done it for the Tigers........ Boy, can I smell a comment coming on this one or what?? :hihi:
I had Dr. Karam in undergrad for marketing and he works closely with the MBA school. He is the best at getting the main point across within seconds. For example, he gave the 1st speech for one of our guest speaker classes. It was about getting the attention of others in your business, keys to moving up in the world, etc... All the students are in the auditorium and he starts talking about an incident that happened to him the other day. Just a regular introduction. A girl walks in late and he goes off on her and yells at her to get out of her seat and to get out. Evertone just feels so bad for the poor girl. Acting in a rage he pauses and and says now what was I talking about? No one in the room could recall. Come to find out she is a student who has been really close to him and it was staged. SHe comes back it to the room and he points out how one action can define you and how difficult it is to accomplish effective communication if you cant control the audience.
