That's right...They were UNDEFEATED in Little Rock today, including that rabbit-out-of-the-hat 21-20 win in '02...That place held a mystical quality for the home team...until today.

To go in there and pound them in Matt Jones last game as a Hog, with them playing for bowl eligibility, in the Hog seniors final hurrah...That's just a DOMINANT performance today in all phases of the game (save for perhaps Special Teams).

    Congrats, LSU!

Not easy to win there at all, much less dominate like we did. Say buh-bye to the Hogs's aura of invincibility at War Memorial Stadium

My father & I took in the game together, and we both agreed that Houston Nutt may have in this 5-6 campaign turned in a better coaching performance than in any previous season in Fayettnam.

21 of 22 starters leaving, and he was playing for bowl contention in WMS today. Those guys have talented front liners, but nothing other than Nutt and his staff's coaching ability can be attributed to the way they always compete. Season in and season out, he takes a talent dearth and turns it into anywhere from 7-9 wins.

The guy may not be an elite game day playcaller and strategist in game, but he inspires his team to play over its head on a consistent basis.

Can't say I have ever heard of a team losing as many starters and competing in the SEC winning one game could be hard to do. I'm not a Nutt fan but you have to say he earned his pay this season.

You have to stop and wonder what this guy would do at a place with elite talent like a Florida or Tennessee or one of the Alabama schools...

I would say Louisiana, but I wonder about NO ONE when it comes to coaching LSU. I have seen the light, and that light is Nick Saban.

But, Nutt would be a terror at another conference school or a place like Tejas...

Because Nebraska is quicksand...They axed Solich after a 9-3 season, forgetful of all of Osborne's close-but-not-quite seasons there. Who in their right mind would go there? You telling me that it would make sense to axe Saban after one less win this past year? Say we lost to UF or Troy or Ole Miss or Bama? You'd be foolish to call for his head. Yet at Nebraska, they let Solich go.

I also think that when Broyles goes, Nutt has been promised a Barry Alvarez situation, in that he will become Athletic Director. I'm not sure, but I believe this was announced right after he turned NU down.

I agree it was one of if not the worse move ever by an AD to fire Solitch. However you can't deny that with the right coach Nebraska could easily become a power to be reckoned with.

When you rank the SEC coaches, Nutt is the only other one in the same tier as Saban and Richt. I guess next year we have to let Spurrier back in.

I don't rank Nutt nearly that high although I would say he is above average SEC and yes you have to put visor boy in with Saban and Richt just based on what he has done in the past. He will have his work cut out for him to get the chickens at a level to compete for top honors in the SEC.
