Are we going to do a "Josh Reed" to Broussard or should the best man play?

Remember when Reed was moved to WR. It was obvious for 10 games or so that he was the best WR on the team but he was relegated to the fourth and third WR spot behind Robinson and Myers because they were the incumbents.

Are we going to do the same type of thing to Broussard? Keep Addai and Carey as the starters because they had the job first. Must we lose games that we could win like we did with Reed on the bench? Why can't we just play the best guy regardless of the politics of who is the incumbent? Broussard appears to be the most talented back that we have had since Collins, and he is not an evil headcase. Start Broussard. He is better as a true freshman than anyone we have and he is better than Toefield was when he started as a true freshman.:cuss:

If anything...I think we would do that to Vincent. Broussard showed me against SC that he has the tools and talent to be at top, top national back. Vincent was very impressive, but he had a better receiving game than Broussard. Plus, Vincent reminds me more of Josh Reed.

No, I am not suggesting moving Broussard or Vincent to WR. I am saying we should start Broussard at RB because he is our most talent/complete RB and adds the dimension of running over people. Broussard has the talent to be an NFL feature back, but I don't know about his hands or ability to pick up blitzes. We will have to see how he performs in those areas.

My point is Reed was obviously the most talented WR but it took forever for him to get the chance to start.
Broussard is obviously the most talented RB because of his dimension to run over people. I hope we don't have to wait for him to get the chance to start.

I think we should put Vincent at WR and keep a stable of running backs like we have been doing. It's kind of nice to be loaded up with that much depth, and has been a key to the success of LSU wearing down opponents. We could really start Addai and Carey, and use Broussard as our 3rd quarter back.

If you are going to stir, get the facts straight. Reed was the third team tailback behind Toe and Davis. Dinardo and McConnel were so stupid they did not see the potential as a WR inspite of the fact that Reed displayed good hands and quick feet, like J. Vincent, in the Spring game.
Even though we were using Craig Nall and a walkon quarterback, as Wide Receivers, none of the overpaid staff thought to use Reed. I suggested twice on the bulletin boards, early in the season that Reed should be given a shot. Guess the coaches don't read the bulletin boards. ;) (Too busy running his restaurant in his spare tiem.)
The week prior to the Alabama game, Josh Booty suggested to the coaching staff that Reed should be given a try. I think Reed had over a hundred yards receiving in his first game as a WR.

Honestly, up until this past weekend, I don't think ANY of us knew how good Broussard was. I mean, I know we all knew he was good and had talent, but I think it's absurd to think that Saban was 100% certain that Alley was the best RB.

I mean, c'mon! We know he didn't get a whole lot of carries in the other games, but his yards per carry average wasn't mind-boggling.

In all fairness to ALL of our RB's, I think ANY of them can amass 100 yards if given the ball 20 times. All are capable.

Heh...and who said Auburn has the best stable of running backs?? :)

The way the O Line was finally living up to its reputation and blowing the SC D Line off the line of scrimmage who's to say that if Addai and Carey had been healthy that they might not have done just as well or better than Broussard and Vincent? I love it. Four tailbacks who each bring a differing set of skills to the table. Carey with his speed and abilty to get into the open field, Addai with his gutsy never stop running until he is down abiity to get extra yardage after he is hit, Broussard's size making him in the near future the best back in the SEC in short yardage situations and Vincent with the great eyes to pick the opening and shifty moves to make tacklers miss, not to mention the threat of him catching passes out of the backfield. I haven't seen enough of Barrington Edwards to know what exactly he brings to the table but I would love to see him get a few carries with the first unit. I'll bet that Tommy TeleTubbyVille is pulling his hair out after watching the game film of the total ground domination by the real Tigers on Saturday.

I trust Saban and his staff will put the best RB on the field. As Bengal B said, the line was finally opening some large holes to run through. I would think that Shyrone is still the starter but Addai should be watching his back for the two freshman. I really loved JV's cutback ability. He wouldn't pitter patter to change directions it would just be one step and he would cutting back against the flow of the defense.
