On this site, you'll find a lot of shrill voices that support him...That's the honest truth... But, what I'm wondering about is this...What about the 8-10 thousand voices that were not there to support him during each of his home games (that he guided a team to an undefeated record in conference play) this past year... Are those voices pro- or anti-John Brady? Are those that never showed up, those season ticket holders who never used their tickets, are those voices supportive or negative? In reality, they aren't voices supporting one way or being negative in the other...or are they? If you've become apathetic towards LSU Basketball, and judging by what's happened, after at least two years post-probation, that is an accurate statement for most of the 8-10 thousand people out there who-at one time or another-thought enough of the sport on our campus to attend it and fill the place up, then what is the reason for it? If Brady supporters are so numerous, then why isn't this support more tangibly noted in attendance figures? Are the voices that aren't there yelling just as loudly to the Athletic Department? I wonder...
It's only because of the lackluster past few seasons and it takes a year or so to bring the fans back. If we start a good run next season watch those seats fill up. Winning does that no matter who is coaching.
This is an interesting statement... So, you actually are ambivalent towards him? But, you don't feel he's going to do the job that we expect of him. So, how is it you don't feel negatively? Is it just that you feel negatively towards his aptitude in his current position? No shots, just wondering...It was an interesting statement...
Yea, I think this summarizes my thoughts in a nutshell too. TE, you ask a good question of interpretation here. I'm not anti-Brady per se mainly b/c my expectations for the program simply aren't that high. We could do worse than Brady, and we could do better. So, if there is a better option, I'm all for bringing him in. But I'm not going to be distraught with Brady as the coach.
If i could be in my home state I would be attending games. But being that I am here in SUCK 12 country, I have gotten use to having to watch them on Yahoo, which takes some patience with the choppiness. While I do not blame Brady in whole for the lost against UAB as a coach there has to be some blame lead at his feet. And with the showing of the SEC in the tournament so far his run through the confrenece seems to be ligeit. So I say this if the team seems to have lost faith in their coach at the start of next year then it might be wish to make a mid season change, to either a interium caoch or perhaps a replacement that is more permant. But if he is able to rebound from this staggering lose and the players rally around him and show that he is the guy they want to play for then, due to his past success we should give him a chance to coach himself out of the job. As for your question I support the school, the idea that is LSU. Whoever the figure head of the respected sport is then I will support him until the powers that be deem it time to make a change. Yes I can be unhappy with the decisions he makes and yes this is a place to vocie those opinions, but at what point do you have to just say I am gonna support the TEAM not the MAN.
I am there when I said " I am gonna support the team not the man" I did not mean I as my myself and I I was offering it as a question to every and anybody that reads it.
I'm 100% pro Brady. I really like JB. I'll admit that he's not the greatest basketball coach, but he's helped get LSU back up to some natinal prominence. When he came here, the program was garbage. Absolute garbage. He's really helped get it back up. He's getting good talent here. I think he's a good guy, and he catches to much personal hell from fans. They take him and what he does or says to personally. Again, it shouldnt be about the coach, the coach isnt the star. It's the team, its the colors. It's about those kids that wear P&G. But, I like JB. I'll support him. But, I also feel that they do need to start winnin some more tourney games. TE, just b/c you have a personal thing against Brady, doesnt mean he's a bad guy. I believe some people are lookin to much into a personal aspect. He's helped take this from a team that was winning 13 games to winning 18-20 games and going dancing. I know its not every year, but I feel its about to breakthrough. I really do. People say LSU deserves better, well this isnt the glorious program people want to think it is. Brady is in the process of getting them there. This hasnt been a glorious program in 13 years. It's not all Brady.
