I don't know which thread to add this to, so I'm just going to start a new one. Have any of you seen a mainstream-media apology to Les Miles for what they said about him? I haven't. Normally I wouldn't care, but these people were trying to assasinate his character (IMO) and that constitutes as libel. No better example of this is shown than the article called "The lying game" by Jemele Hill. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hill/071204&sportCat=ncf The first line of this article? I may be in the minority here for thinking this is even close to important, but I think it is. For the rest of football season all we're going to here about from ESPN is how untrustworthy coaches are. But when are we going to here how untrustworthy ESPN is? Or how slanderous they are? We won't hear that until (and it still probably won't work) we bombard them with messages concerning their unprofessional, slanderous bullsh*t. So let's make a list of all printed examples of ESPN defaming Les and send it right back to them. Or is this too much to do?
For weeks now everytime UM was mentioned so was Miles over and over again. As of last night, not a word on Les or picture etc... They will cover there tracks for as long as possible. Bayless always talks about what he was right about-no mention of Miles today. The 2 live stews who promised Miles would be the coach at UM were ironically not on 1st Take today. We will have to wait to to is the Sports Reporters even mention the UM job again.
wait a minute, are you saying that you expect members of the media to actually be accountable for the crazy thigns they spew forth???? that's crazy!!!! :rolleye33: (this is the sarcasm smiley, right??)
Odds are I will win the Powerball lottery or hell will freeze over before you see a member of the mainstream media apologize or admit they were wrong. The Miles to UM story is old news in their small minds.
well yes haha. and this might show my political leanings, but i believe until any of us get involved and hold these people up to some sort of accountability. until then we're stuck with a bunch of buffoons who think they can get away with whatever crap they spew. we know what would happen if the neighborhoods we grew up in had little pot stirrers doing these things... or at least i do.
I would be willing to participate in this as long as it wasn't taken to a cussing people out level which just look bad for our state and our school!
Maybe they wouldn't apologize but if enough people email them then at least I think they will know that we are asking "what say thee now??" and may at least grace us with a response!
This just in.... The Media would like to apologize to the LSU fan base for reporting that their coach wants to eventually coach the Michigan Wolverines. We are sorry this is in his contract. We shouldn't have made it public knowledge. We further apologize for reporting that Coach Miles had a deal with Michigan worked out which he decided against after being pressured to stay by the LSU AD. We also regret that we reported that he was talking with the Michigan AD and president after he signed a contract - even though this was completely true. Please accept our apology LSU. There you go. An apology from the Media. Now we won't have to fret about that anymore.
