We should have been number 1 in the AP poll back in early December. If the AP still thinks USC should be recognized they should vote both us and USC #1 in the AP poll, but I think their minds were made up to vote USC before the Sugar Bowl ever took place.
I don't think so but DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! I completely respect what USC has done this year but the AP can vote for Mickey Mouse tonight and it won't matter. The national championship stopped being a beauty contest win the BCS was formed. I don't like the BCS but it's the system we have. Since it's inception, the AP became nothing more than one part of the formula, not the sole and final judge. Once the BCS rankings are formed, the AP becomes irrelevant. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!! That's ok though. We all know who the TRUE National Champions are! 2004 National Champion Tigers!!!!!
No matter what was going to happen in the game, the writers weren't going to name anyone but USC their champions (provided USC won...which they did). They are dying to kill the BCS because they don't have as big of a say in the national championship now. They're just spoiled, whiney children that have had their candy taken away.
