Just a portion of it: "If LSU wins Sunday night, the Tigers will be my No. 1 pick. However, should they lose to the Sooners, USC will move up to No. 1. Unlike many people who believe USC is the championship pick of the "voters," I'm waiting until the final game is played. "
Is he not contradicting himself? What a loser. Yeah, you should wait until after teh final game, but his bias has no facts to back it up! It is just more bs. All you lsu fans would say teh same thing if he switched the OU and the lsu.
It is correct to wait till the final game to make your decision though. Now, whether he goes with OU or USC (most likely will never get to that point though ) he will just have to make the right choice.
OU shouldn't be #1 No team should lose a championship game and ever win the National Championship much less play in one. There are many people who believe this other than LSU Fans and thank god the game is almost here I'm tired of all this talk and I'm ready for action. I hope we kill the Spooners
sourdough, i disagree. i dont see why ou shouldnt be champ if they beat lsu. they would have the best sos, and would have beaten by far the best bowl opponent. and their loss was against a respectable opponent. if OU wins it would be a travesty if they were not #1. who cares if they lost to k st? usc lost to cal! huge difference! usc should never, under any circumstances be #1 in any pool ever, no matter what happens sunday.
Martin, I understand what your saying and I think this is the biggest problem with college football. IMOP College football is a joke as far as post season goes. I would hope one day, all conferences will have champ games and the winners move on to play until a real champion is crowned. College football is the only sport without a playoff. Its unfair for half conferences to have champ games and and the other half don't. I don't like USuck being ranked ahead of us after they didn't beat a top 10 team twice and a top 25 team much less a Champ Game. But The system is can't handle this current situation and so much is being made out of all this when everyone could've been talking about LSU vs USC in the Sugar Bowl and it would be undisputed. I don't think any team that loses their conference game should play for the title and to show you how screwed up the system is. Throw out the records, Tennessee was #2 when we beat them in the SECCG, they didn't get to play for the title. This shows how consistantly messed up the system is and how inconsistant it is towards teams and conferences.
i agree with everything you say except i dont think the fact that the one game that OU lost was their conf championship should hurt them extra bad, unless everyone had conf champ games to battle through. OU's conference championship would necessarily be a really challenging game. and losing that game shoundt hurt them as bad as if they lost to an idiot. i like to reward teams who do tough things and punish teams who lose to morons (cal). i just think it would be horribly unfair for OU to not win the nat'l championship if they beat lsu, because that would be a hell of an accomplishment. exactly.
The only thing I will say is: It goes back to the bcs system and the polls football wasn't designed from the beginning of time for games to be played and losers of playoff games to move on. I would call a conference champ game, a playoff game of sorts wouldn't you? btw, i know its probably the bcs again.. But Tenn was #2 when we beat them 2 years ago and they didn't have a shot at the title like OU now does.
