I know it's early and all, but how everything has played out and and AP bull$%^&, I'm betting that LSU barely makes it into the AP top 5 in next year's preseason poll. I'd put money that USC, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Miami, and maybe LSU at 5. LSU 3 at the Highest.

Nah....LSU will be #2. If USC would get their tail out from between their legs and schedule us for their first game, we'd move up to #1 the very first week.

I'll take that action. With our upcoming recruiting class? It would take a tragedy for LSU not to be ranked at least #2 in the Preseason AP. We're only losing 18 seniors. The MVP of the national championship game is a FRESHMAN! Our defense will get respect next year.

We can only hurt ourselves next year. I can already taste the oranges...

Maybe you're right, but I just can't trust the AP anymore. It's just not a reliable measurement of better and best. Take the preseason poll, for example, before a ball is even snapped, USC will be number 1. Bogus. Let them play a couple of weeks first.

I believe LSU will be anywhere from # 2 to # 5. USC will certainly be preseason # 1 in AP. LSU's rank could depend upon the decisions this season's Juniors make as to whether to stay or go. If they all returm, then LSU will definitely start at #2. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that we'll lose Mauck, Clayton, Webster, and, perhaps, more, since they won THE national championship. Could be an unfortunate byproduct for us of winning it all, but I'm not going to complain!

We will be top 5. We are losing a few more key starters then USC and OU, but Miami is losing a lot of key juniors, and Ohio State is not as good and losing Krenzel. We should be top 4 at least.

Watch out for something like this:

    1. USC
    2. LSU or OU
    3. LSU or OU
    4. Ohio St
    5. Georgia

Don't get me wrong, I know what lies ahead for LSU, but was the AP able to predict the talent LSU had this year? Not even close.

I can assure you all that Ohio State will not, or at least should not, be in the pre season top 5, we lose way too much to comand that sort of ranking.

    I would vote this way:

    1) USC (most everyone coming back)
    2) Miami (always has talent everywhere)
    3) LSU (Assuming you lose some great underclassmen to the NFL)
    4) Oklahoma (Should rollover the Weak Big XII)
    5) Virginia Tech (Marcus Vick is going to be tough to stop)
    6) Georgia (Good team with a lot coming back)
    7) Texas (Paper Champions are hard to vote lower than this)
    8) Washington State (Solid team returning)
    9) Ohio State (young and unproven, but talented)
    10) Florida (Leak will give GA a run for SEC East)
    11) Florida State (Another 3 loss season for Bobby)
    12) Michigan (will compete with Ohio State and Iowa for Big 10)
    13) Virginia (A team that may be ready to take the next step)
    14) Iowa (Good D, good offensive line, will stay with anyone)
    15) Texas Tech (oh if they just had a Defenese)

Va. Tech and USC will go after it in a "kickoff classic" in August.

I love College football, even though the wound is still deep and fresh from Tiger bite on the ass, I HATE that it is 7 months until the next kickoff.

I agree with you, that long journey that never seems to make it here. It's like a bye week times 1000. It starts now and in about the end of july I'll be waiting for the highly anticipated NCAA 2005 football game for X-Box. It is then that college football fever hits hardest. But alas, it is only but a month away. That journey begins today.
