I can see those tv highlight shows returning to their former glory! The Big 11 was sent packing! OSU remains in the Top 10. SEC rules. 1. USC (56) (1-0) 1,592 1 2. TEXAS (2) (2-0) 1,538 2 3. LSU (1-0) 1,404 5 4. VIRGINIA TECH (2-0) 1,345 7 5. TENNESSEE (1-0) 1,297 6 6. FLORIDA (2-0) 1,242 10 7. GEORGIA (2-0) 1,181 9 8. FLORIDA ST (2-0) 1,138 11 9. OHIO ST (1-1) 1,100 4 10. NOTRE DAME (2-0) 1,036 20 Others Receiving Votes: ALABAMA 137, OREGON 115, UTAH 113, WISCONSIN 88, AUBURN 87 :hihi:
If LSU had started the season unranked and beat an obviously overranked Pitt team and a slightly overrated UM team, we would be ranked about 17th...lower than Michigan. It's a fact of life, some teams get brownie points for tradition and popularity among the voters.
I know to check the Coach's poll at USATODAY.com when I want it eaorly on Sunday, but where do you get the AP poll? espn, cfn, cnnsi, foxsports, athlon, etc have not yet updated the rankings for either poll yet. . .
Why would you be surprised? This kind of thing has always happened in college football. It NEVER has made any sense just like the top 25 rankings at the beginning of the year. How about all the polls out there that rank the teams and many of them don't agree. Then there is no playoff system, some conferences have championship games while others don't. It all makes as much sense as your question, let the NCAA or congress get a hold of anything and your guaranteed to have a disaster on your hands. Lets not forget about the NCAA and the attack on the mascots recently! :dis:
If we don't fix Teppers defense then we won't be going too far. I'm afraid it's too late to fix it. We will have to hope we can outgun the opposing offense.
I dont think the first post is correct. Everywhere I have looked is showing Texas with 8 first place votes, so they actually picked up 4.
