AP POLL COMES OUT TODAY

    I wonder where LSU will be positioned in the AP poll. The USA Today Coaches poll has USC a runaway #1, Texas a distant second (great preseason hype job by the Big Oil dollars behind UT), TN/Mich/Okla packed tight, with LSU #6.

    You never know how the press will vote preseason. They often vary greatly from the coaches poll. No doubt, they'll vote USC #1. Yet, I wonder if they'll drink the Longhorn punch. I'd like to see LSU get that Top 5 ranking today & maybe even a first place vote or two (It's not out of the question). We'll see.

    They have nothing to lose with their poll this year, b/c it means next to nothing...

    I guess it should be like that...

    The Champ should be #1 until they lose...

    Too bad we WEREN'T presason #1 the year after we were champs

    The AP poll means about as much as the TF top 25. I love it.

    That's why I like the BCS poll. It doesn't come out until well into the season.

    Now, now, that hurts. :sob: I thought our top 25 was very well put together and can compete with any of the polls in the nation. ;) :rofl:

    Absolutely correct, it is a poll of this years teams not last years. As we all found out last season the year before means nothing to the next.

    Hell, well if SI's top 25 is ANY indication as to how the rest of the media votes, don't be surprised if we're 10 or higher (SI ranked us 13th!)
