Someone explain this to me...if Diet Coke and Pepsi have no carbs...why is it bad to drink it on atkins?
theres a myth that aspartame is poison...just another urban myth. but i think ppl on it say it stalls their diet. so they drink water.
I learned this a while back from a friend who is a bio chem type.... It's an atkins thing that the chemical makeup of the splenda product which either IS or is just like sugar, but it's got an elongated structure that makes it almost imposible to breakdown or digest, and it passes through your system without being converted to fat. I think this is why when you eat too much of an item with splenda it makes you .....ill...... I also think Atkins has issues with caffeine too.....
Diet Coke and C2 use aspartame not Splenda. Splenda is sucralose, which is chemically derived from sucrose. Sucralose is a sugar alcohol, having different properties from sucrose (table sugar). Gus is right about the product being long chain. Splenda has been reported to give a small percentage of people the "loosies." It is not easily broken down in the simple sugars the body uses for fuel, so it passes harmlessly, albeit sometimes rapidly, through the body. Caffeine is a stimulant, and is known to cause cravings in people on Atkins, South Beach, etc.
Wait! If there's a brand of tuna called Chicken of the Sea, is tuna chicken or is it tuna? Or are they the same thing? Geez. I'm SO confused.
I was just in Albertson's and they were giving them away as a sample to get people to try it. It was pretty close to real coke but leaves a slight aftertaste.
still have never seen it anywhere advertised or in any store. maybe they are testing it first in the south.
