anyone see the revenant?

i enjoyed it. scenery was awesome. LDC will prolly get his first oscar. i didnt think it was great. a bit far fetched.

 

Have not yet. I plan to. How close did they stay to the historical facts?

 

a lot of so-called facts are conjecture anyhow regarding hugh glass but no. not many of the ones we know are stuck to in the script. i cant say which that im aware or it will ruin it for you.

its not last of the mohicans in that regard.

 

Eh.... Hugh Glass didn't have a son. The real story is supposed to go he was attacked by a bear, 2 trappers stayed with him but then left because they didn't think he would survive and they wanted to make money fur trapping, the other guys in the party had a 2 day head start on them. They leave him in a shallow grave, he crawls back to civilization swearing revenge, but when he finally meets back up with the 2 that left him he forgives them.

This whole thing about him having a half Indian son that's murdered is codswallop.

 

Hugh Glass is up there with Bowie and Crockett as far as how many of the so called "facts" about their lives are merely legends.

The bear attack as brutal. I'll be remembering that one next time I go backpacking.

Yeah there is a lot of shit that is myth about his life before the bear attack. He has turned into Bill Brasky.
