The reason I ask is because in a brief on the new LSUBeat.com that the Shreveport Times is sponsoring, Glenn Guilbeau has this statement - But Broussard especially will be missed in short-yardage situations. He can dominate a game. Justin Vincent looks overweight and is a situational player, as is Shyrone Carey. Vincent was in Saban's dog house last year for reporting overweight and out of shape. Then when he fumbled in the first few games he was relegated to special teams action. I find it a bit disturbing that Guilbeau says he looks overweight when that is totally contrary to everything I've read or heard about Justin committing himself this summer. JV will need to be a factor this year, so it concerns me that he might be overweight. :geauxtige
I did not attend fan day, but I have seen JV in the bar on two occasions. To me, he looks great and he looks solid. However, Vincent might be the most talked about player in history when it comes to everything but performance. He looks fat, he looks slow, he looks sad, he looks drunk, he looks healthy, he looks handsome, he looks positive, he looks anxious... It seems like we are always talking about Vincent's physical attributes and sizing him up. I say it's time to move on from that and give the kid a freaking football and tell him to get it done or straddle the pine. This is an absolute career year for Justin Vincent because it will ultimately solidify what is reality and what is fluke. Was the Frosh Sensation fluke or reality? Was the Sophomore Drop Off fluke or reality? Don't tell us, Justin, just SHOW us who you are and what you are really made of. If he isn't in shape and he isn't ready to contribute in a way that helps this team win then he will wash up and fade away. Personally, I'm tired of waiting for this kid to "get it back" - sometimes I think the back of his jersey should have one gigantic "?" in place of his name. I don't feel sorry for JV and I'm sick and tired of holding my breath to see what kind of shape he shows up in and how well he's maintained his body and his conditioning. I am no longer willing to casually hope he will perform - now I actually demand it because this team NEEDS it. The kid has an SEC MVP Trophy and a BCS NC MVP Trophy in his living room - IT'S TIME TO STEP UP AND PLAY LIKE IT.
I wouldn't put too much stock in it. Everything I've read says that he's in good shape and running really well. I've also read several reports recently that says Shy is in better shape and running better than he ever has. Dandydon's post-practice update today said it looks like the order right now is Addai, Carey, Vincent. I'm curious to see how Vincent plays, and I'm curious to see if Carey's playing as well as people are saying, but I'm not worried about the RB situation. I think those 3 will step it up and take care of most of the business, and I'm expecting to see more of Hester too. He ran well last year when he played.
well if he is out every night getting wasted, thats one thing.....but some people (not saying you) throw stuff like this out and say think that he is a horrible person because he is an LSU Football player and he is at a bar. If he wants to go out an have a few beers thats not going to affect his work ethic or health, and its not going to prevent him from being the best football player he can be.
6 paragraphs and that's what you get out if it? Tante Pie strikes again. "Mais cher, I hear dat Justin was in de bar last night. Dat's not good for L S Shoo no."
