Yes this is LSU related in a way-
My computer is broken and has been for about a month. I want to finally get it fixed but don't know of any good places to go. Anyone out there know of a good place in Baton Rouge. I hope there is a good place close to campus. I am tired of having to go to the library or union to use there computers everday to look at Tigerforums and other LSU web sites.
By the way I put this in The Tiger's Den because I know the most people will look at it here.

I dont know, but if I were you, I would find another student to do it. It will be cheaper and better work.

Nerdworks on Coursey Blvd. I know it's not close to campus, but they are knowledgable and reasonable. Just take Bluebonnet , it will turn into Coursey as you pass over Airline. It will be on the right after you pass Sherwood.

I'm an EE Major, and I know a lot about computers. I've built systems for myself and other people. So what exactly is your problem?

I can fix a lot of software configuration problems myself. If it is a hardware problem I have friends who will fix it for less than a computer store will charge.

When I fix stuff I typically charge in beer or a meal. If it aint too much of a prob and you treat me to Serrano's, I am your whore!

Here is my problem. When I turn on my computer it will boot up all the way. Then about a few seconds later it will go directly to a blue screen. It says something like physcial memory dump complete, contact system administrator. I think something is wrong with the memory. On the other hand it could be a virus or something. I had some corrupt files on my computer over the summer and it was messing it up. I got those cleaned and it worked fine up until about a month and a half ago.

What OS are you using? I have had that exact same problem in the past on Windows 2000 Pro. My short term solution was to reboot the computer and everything would work normally. I upgraded to W2000 Server and the problem has gone away. How much ram do you have? I seemed to get that problem after running memory intensive programs with 512k ram but I ended up putting a gig of ram into my machines.
